Seller Verification
Verify buyer and seller contact addresses at listing time to keep marketplace communication reliable.
Email validity · 1 credit per lookup · no monthly fee
How it works
One call, structured answer
Seller Verification runs on the email validity lookup at 1 credit per lookup. Same API key, same JSON shape as every other Encrata lookup.
- Answers come from the mail server itself, not a guess from patterns
- Disposable and throwaway domains are flagged before they cost you anything
- 1 credit per check, cheap enough to run on every address you touch
- Cached results are free, so repeated checks never double-charge
Verify at listing time
Verify at listing creation and gate re-verification on activity signals: a seller whose response rate drops or whose messages start bouncing gets an automatic re-check. Failed verification pauses the listing with a self-serve fix, 'update your contact email to reactivate', so enforcement doesn't create support load.
Fewer disputes, more trust
Marketplaces that add contact verification see dispute rates fall for a mundane reason: most 'unresponsive seller' complaints were never malice, just dead mailboxes. Verified-contact badges also become a trust signal buyers actually notice, and the marketplace's own transactional mail (order notifications, payout alerts) stops bouncing into the void.
