Use Encrata responsibly. Our services are intended for lawful security, identity, risk, compliance, and intelligence purposes. Do not use Encrata to break the law, harm people, invade privacy, send spam, commit fraud, abuse our systems, or target individuals in unlawful, deceptive, or unsafe ways. We may limit, suspend, or terminate access if we believe Encrata is being misused or could create risk for our customers, our platform, or others. 1. Overview

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Encrata API, website, dashboard, and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this AUP. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.

2. Permitted Use

The Service may be used for legitimate purposes, including:

  • Identity verification and fraud prevention
  • Sales and marketing data enrichment
  • Security research and threat intelligence
  • Due diligence and compliance (KYC/AML)
  • Building AI agents and automated workflows
  • Academic and journalistic research

3. Prohibited Use

You may not use the Service to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, or threaten any individual
  • Discriminate against individuals in employment, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Violate any applicable law, including privacy and data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA)
  • Make eligibility decisions covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) - Encrata is not a consumer reporting agency
  • Send unsolicited bulk communications (spam)
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute raw lookup data without authorization
  • Circumvent rate limits, credit metering, or security controls
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without written permission
  • Use the Service to develop a competing product

4. Fair Usage

API usage is metered by credits and subject to plan rate limits. Automated usage patterns that degrade Service performance for other customers - such as excessive concurrent requests or systematic scraping of our endpoints - may be throttled or blocked. Contact us if you need higher limits.

5. Data Handling Obligations

You are responsible for how you store, process, and share data obtained through the Service. You must maintain a lawful basis for processing personal data, honor data subject rights requests, and delete data when it is no longer needed for your stated purpose.

6. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate accounts, withhold credits, or report unlawful activity to law enforcement. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action unless prohibited by law or where delay would cause harm.

7. Reporting Abuse

To report misuse of the Service, contact support@encrata.com. Include as much detail as possible so we can investigate quickly.

8. Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be announced via the dashboard or email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
